The LG Optimus One is being released as a started smart phone. With so many super phones being released, it’s nice to have options if you’re looking for something to do basic smart phone functions and is small and compact. Measuring 4.47 by 2.32 by 0.52 and weighs 4.55 ounces, it’s about average for an entry level smart phone. The design on the phone is nice, with physical buttons along the bottom for home, back, search and options and a soft touch coating along the back of the phone. The screen is 3.2 inches with 320×480 pixel resolution, which is also average for this screen size. The screen supports 262,144 colors which results in fairly good graphics and text.

The Optimus One runs on a Qualcomm MSM7227 600MHz ARM 11 processor and Adreno 200 graphic processor, making the response time fair. The Optimus One also has Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, FM Radio, 3 megapixel camera with video capture, GPS, multimedia player and email capabilities. It runs Android Froyo 2.2 without any added user interface so it’s completely customizable. The Voice Search function allows you to use the phone hands free, accessing the many functions with ease. The LG Optimus Net is an entry level phone, giving more options to those who want a basic smart phone instead of a fully loaded huge super phone. The LG Nitro HD is the third device to hit the AT&T 4G LTE network and is considered to be a superphone. Measuring 5.27 by 2.67 by 0.41, this phone is large. LG made sure that although it was large, it was comfortable to hold by making it light with an all plastic build, beveled edges so it feels lighter and a soft touch finish. The large 4.5 inch display has a 720p HD screen with an IPS panel. This provides the best color balance and brightness. It also has incredibly smooth graphics and the black colors are truly black, as well as great viewing angles, even outdoors.

Below the display are the back, menu and home buttons that are well spaced so you won’t accidentally hit the wrong button. They are capacitive buttons instead of physical, so when the phone is asleep it has a very streamline black, clear look. The Nitro HD is running on a 1.5 dual core Qualcomm Snapdragon S3 processor – a proven product that everyone knows will perform well. The Nitro also has Android Gingerbread with the promise of an upgrade to Ice Cream Sandwich early this year. The 1500mAh battery does have a smaller battery life than other phones about the same level, however, it is running two screens simultaneously, so the battery life is expected to be less than optimal. It does last 3.5 hours of talk time and 280 hours of standby time, which should last most of the day.
